Equatorial Guinea’s National Nzalang Prepares to Face Spain

Screen Shot 2013-11-12 at 2.19.33 PMIn anticipation of the match against Spain on November 16 at the New Stadium of Malabo, Equatorial Guinea’s National Nzalang has selected its lineup, which includes Casillas, Ramos, Busquets, Villa and Iniesta.

This is a major opportunity for the chosen Equatoguinean players to prove their skills since Spain is the current world champion and a two-time champion of Europe.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, along with other officials from the Equatorial Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFUT), confirmed the match on November 7th.  Since then, there has been growing anticipation that can be felt throughout the nation.

To add to the pressure, the Second Vice President for Defense and State Security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, promised five million euros to the National Nzalang if they beat Spain. The Second Vice President also promised 50,000 euros for each goal scored.

Ecuatoguinean Boxing Champion, Alex Asumu Osa, Wins Another Title

Screen Shot 2013-04-30 at 4.13.26 PMBoxing champion Alejandro Asumu Osa, from Equatorial Guinea, won another title after competing in the International Kickboxing Tournament Top Fay. The competition was held on Saturday, April 27, at the Daganzo de Arriba Sports Center in Madrid.

Asumu Osa who has won a number of awards in Europe and in Africa, competed in the professional category during the competition. His victory came shortly after President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo awarded him with the medal of the Grand Cross of Independence.

Asumu Osa accepted the award while he was leading a kickboxing tour throughout Equatorial Guinea.
