Equatorial Guinea’s Football Federation Names Rodolfo Bodipo as New Advisor

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 2.19.04 PMRodolfo Bodipo, former captain of the National Nzalang team of Equatorial Guinea, was recently appointed as the new advisor for the Equatorial Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFUT).

Domingo Mituy Edjang, Chairman of FEGUIFUT, appointed Bodipo to his new position two months after he stopped playing for the National Nzalang.

According to Edjang, he hopes that Bodipo will bring positive change to the FEGUIFUT, who has shown great commitment to national soccer by accepting this role.

Akonangui is the new champion of the National Soccer League

Screen Shot 2013-11-25 at 11.27.57 AMThis Friday, November 22, the Akonangui team has became the official champion of the National Soccer League in Equatorial Guinea, also known as the Playoffs, by beating The Panthers 1-0 in a match marked by tension between the two opponents.

The match faced by Akonangui against The Panthers F.C. of Malabo was characterized by the enormous tension felt in the field and in the stands.

Nzalang Women’s Under 17 defeated by Ghana

The women’s teams in all categories are doing an excellent job, and now have to support the Under 20, which is two qualifiers away from getting into World Canada 2014.

Equatorial Guinea’s Women’s Under-20 National Team Qualifies for Next Round

Screen Shot 2013-11-12 at 3.10.56 PMAfter Sunday’s game against the Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea’s Under-20 national team will move forward in the qualifying rounds for the FIFA’s Under-20 Women’s World Cup, Canada 2014.

The teams tied 2-2 on Sunday when they played, thanks to Victoria Mangue who scored in the last 90 minutes of the game.

Though they tied, Equatorial Guinea qualified for the next round because they won in the first leg 4-0 when they played in Abidjan.

Equatorial Guinea’s Women’s Nzalang Defeats Ivory Coast 4-0

On Friday, October 25, Equatorial Guinea’s women’s soccer team defeated the Ivory Coast 4-0. The game was a major victory for the sub-20 team because it is valid for the qualifying rounds for the FIFA Sub-20 World Cup finals in Canada 2014.

With four players out sick, the game was off to a slow start in the first half with a 1-0 lead, Equatorial Guinea. However, things picked up in the second half when teammates Sabina and Susan scored three more goals, leaving Equatorial Guinea in the lead 4-0.

The next game for the women’s Nzalang will be in Malabo in two weeks.
