Equatorial Guinea Hosts its First International Pro-Am Golf Tournament

The Hotel Sofitel Sipopo Le Golf will host the first-ever international Pro-Am golf tournament featuring professional players from October 18 to October 20.

The newly created Equatorial Guinean Golf Federation (FEGUIGOLF) is organizing the first International Pro-Am to be held in Equatorial Guinea with help from sponsor 3E Actuaries. The president of the federation, Gabriel Mbega Obiang Lima, announced that “the FEGUIGOLF is delighted to lend its support to the First International Pro-Am, which in 2014 will become the Equatorial Guinea Golf Open.”

The Sofitel Sipopo Le Golf’s spectacular facilities will host professional players such as Mario Tadini (Italy), Xavi Puig Giner (Spain), and Tarik Benslimane (Morocco). This marks an early step in the Federation’s effort to establish Equatorial Guinean golf at an international level.
